Night job karen hesse5/13/2023 Brian Karas’s art perfectly matches Hesse’s observant tone. Even the taste of a well-earned, late-night sandwich is amplified. Exceptionally poetic, Hesse’s imaginative language lends a slightly surreal and dreamlike feeling to this nighttime adventure. Multiple award-winner Hesse narrates in first person with an ear for childhood wonder and honesty, as the boy observes everything from the fishy smell coming from the bay to his father’s heft of custodial keys. While the duo cleans, they squeeze in moments of levity as they work their way through the deserted school, turning a night’s work into time together. One young boy makes a lunch he and his father will share late in the night, as he prepares to join his father at his night custodial job. Illuminating the world of those whose day begins when most of us are tucked into bed, Night Job by Karen Hesse is a sweet story about hard work and devotion. As for me and my house by sinclair ross5/13/2023 Told in the form of a diary, the book chronicles Mrs. Set in the town of Horizon during The Great Depression, As for Me and My House follows the life and experiences of a minister's wife (called Mrs. One reviewer called As for Me and My House "a beautifully moody novel about weather and a terrible marriage." Other reviewers, however, said the book was "physically painful to read." Despite that, many consider Ross' book to be a bona fide classic with a tremendous amount of literary importance. Sinclair Ross's As for Me and My House(first published in 1941 but achieved its fame after a re-issue in 1954) was first released to very little fanfare and received very few reviews (partly due to its availability and partly due to its subject matter and structure). Sarina bowen mm5/13/2023 Wes was struggling to keep his heart and desire tucked in but Jamie was just so irresistible! It’s hard to be gay struggling to be accepted by everyone but it’s also another thing to be gay and be in love with your best friend who happened to be straight and want him to accept you. Wes has an inner conflict to keep his distance from Jamie because of his sexual orientation. I know that this trope has been done over and over in every romance books but somehow I like how Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy did it in this m-m book. This is one of those bestfriends-turned-lovers kind of romance, the m-m version. hahaha I’m sorry my thoughts are still somewhere in the book and it won’t leave it for some reason. I repeat! HOT DUDES making out!!!!! This is a win-win situation for me because I get to have two hot hockey jocks as MCs, and they are just so adorable together! Seriously I’m jealous, I want squeeze right there between them. I feel so oddly satisfied and blissful to read about HOT DUDES …. “What’s good about going gay?” I nudge him back under the table.
